The Easter Bunny is certainly on his way.

Families can celebrate his arrival with the traditional egg hunt provided by the Kinsmen Club and The Bunny Trail Spring Fair, hosted by the Niagara Nursery School and now in its 18th year.

Both events will be held at the new Anderson Lane Community Centre—the nursery school, which is also now a child care centre with before and after school day care, moved in to the new facility in September and hasn’t looked back.

This year’s Bunny Trail is a fundraiser for indoor resources for the nursery school, says supervisor Patricia Couroux.

Their wish list includes an aquarium, new child-size couches, some adult-sized furniture, and plants to get a garden started.

Tschool's major fundraiser usually attracts about 2,000 people, and last year was raising money for the new playground, which has been installed and enjoyed by this year’s students. It will be open for use at the Bunny Trail, says Couroux.

The facility, unlike the former Scout Hall location, is completely accessible, she added.

The Fair will have lots of activities for everyone in the family, including a barbecue, bake sale, face painting, inflatable bouncers, children's games, Mad Science for the older kids, a silent auction, a visit from the Easter Bunny and of course the Kinsmen egg hunt, which begins at 10 a.m. sharp.

Most of the activities will be indoors in the auditorium, with the exception of the inflatables and the egg hunt, which goes on rain or shine—hopefully shine, says Couroux.

There is no admission and it's also an opportunity visit the new community centre and preschool room.

Their new location, says Couroux, “is fantastic. It’s amazing. The community centre staff has been phenomenal, very accommodating and helpful, and the space is wonderful I can’t say enough about how great it is. At one point it seemed like we had a long, five-year road ahead, and we wondered if it would ever happen, but it did, and it’s great to be here.”

The Bunny Trail Spring Fair and Kinsmen Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 7 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre on Anderson Lane.
